Oh and this would not help with the USB thing, you would need to have two
USB hubs but that would not be a problem. The second X display would handle
the mouse and keyboard if they were USB or PS/2 you just would need to know
which USB hub to plug thumb drives and other devices into.

The sound thing can be solved by a new ALSA feature that is used in LTSP5 to
connect sound from one system to another and it is some how detected and
directed to the X session that is active. I have not tried it yet but I have
heard good things about it.
