I have not seen a network card years that did not work out of the box
with Debian, Ubuntu,  or Red Hat/Cent OS.  I left slackware years ago, I
am sure it is a fine distro, I just prefer other ones.

The only problems I have had were about 1 printer in 4.  All of them
needed disks and drivers to work in windows, in Linux the ones that
worked just worked.  Tough to call a winner here.
