I would caution against increasing the Tx power.  There are two reasons,
first, the TX power increase does you no good if the other end is also
not increasing its power.

The second reason is that increasing the Tx power will also introduce
noise at the top end of the amps range.  Noise will cause retransmits
which will hurt throughput.  If you really need that kind of power
output, get a device with a high quality amp, like this card:

Of course this does not come without cost, that first card costs close
to $100.  You can get cheaper ones, but just because the device says it
