You cannot hear what you are recording while you are recording. My kids plug
their electronic keyboard into the audio in port of the sound card then hit
the record button in audacity and then play a song. There seems to be no way
to hear what you are recording so you have to stop then playback to find out
how much you need to adjust the recording levels, this takes many attempts.
After about 20 minutes or so the levels are good so you can begin to record
for real. After you are done you can playback and find out you missed a note
so you get to start all over again. It is a real big pain.

No one on the [CEL]LUG seems to know how to solve the problem.
