Wouldn't hurt to try. Just a though that came to mind - fax machine protocol is fairly simple, not a lot of hand shaking and long enough pauses between send and acknowledgement. I would think that data transmission would likely get messed up with a tight protocol, more handshaking and latency - but that is only a guess.
Let me know if you need a pair of modems to try out. Fax machines work... it's worth trying a modem, or at least asking Shaw about it. http://www.shaw.ca/cmsShawCA/Templates/Detail.aspx?NRMODE=Published&NRNODEGUID={3DFF7B86-7188-432E-A768-A7E931C76ABC}&NRORIGINALURL=%2Fen-ca%2FCustomerCare%2FDigitalPhoneSupport%2FFAQs.htm&NRCACHEHINT=Guest "1. Can I send and receive faxes using Shaw's home phone service? Yes. Shaw's home phone service works just like traditional phone service, and therefore allows you to send and receive faxes." -Mark C. _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
