Hi,
Try to think of it just the opposite from the old
standardized tests in school. Then, you wanted your percentile score
to be high. The percentile score gives the percentage of
people (or facilities) that scored lower than you.
So, for dehydration, if your percentile score is 86, and your numerator is 2, then 86% of the facilities in your comparison group had one or none with dehydration in that time frame. I am fairly certain that end stage disease removes the person from both the numerator and the denominator. Holly Sox
