Why is "the day not billable"? This
situation is the only one in which you can bill for the day of discharge. I
don't understand why there is a problem.

"I have a question regarding same day
transfers for a Part A resident. The resident is admitted and discharged on
the same day. In this case, they did receive services, so we filed a claim to
receive payment for our charges. Medicare paid at the RUGS score. So now, we
have a credit balance because the day is not billable, and therefore was not
booked. Should we have received payment for the RUG, or should we only be
reimbursed our charges on same day transfers."
