Thankyou, Kathy D for your kind supportive words!  We exited today; and came out much better than we really realized!  It was actually not bad considering the stress we were under.  No quality of care issues and we made sure our staff knew it; they did an awesome job.  Paperwork; supportive documentation and following facility policies seemed to be the focus.  So glad it's over!  A few of us went out and had a few drinks to celebrate that fact and to give eachother support; closing the bond we have between departments.  Colleen

Good luck to you, Colleen - a lot of us end up in that boat, don't we - it's difficult when the folks responsible for the paperwork have to help out with the direct patient care, because as we are starting those IV's - who is doing the MDS?  Usually....no one.  Hang in there....KathyD

Hi everyone; just wanted you to know the state surveyors came to our building on Tuesday; a holiday.  Benign one but a holiday.  They're focusing on chemical and physical restraints, med. adm. and errors.  Same old stuff; so much depends on the Care manager, doesn't it?  We have so many LPN's in the building as charge nurses that I'm spending a lot of my time following up and doing IV's that they can't do.  Unfortunately that doesn't leave me time to do my own job..  And that reflects on our surveys.  I'll let you know how we did.  Colleen in SD.
