I think the idea is that the resident would be at risk for "overactivity" and fatigue due to constant "busyness". I have a couple of residents that we have to watch closely... they seem to try to stay involved in something non-stop and then get testy with staff and other residents because they are so tired.  That drive to be busy may also be an indicator of incipient depression, if the person is using activity involvement to try to get themselves out of the dumps.

Subject: activity raps - rationale for why N raps?

Why does activity rap when a resident is coded in 1)  N1 as being awake most of the time in mornings; and 2) N2 coded 0 (average time involved in activities = most).  I don't understand, sorry if I am being stupid again.  I have read the RAI section on N and still don't get it. thanks for enlightening me (again).
