Only if they meet the definition of a restraint.� Be sure you have your assessment/paper trail in place to support your determination.� We were functioning under the misconception that � rails were not restraining because they didn’t appear to stop anyone with intent.� However, our survey team did not feel that way and we now assess them like all other devices.

We all use the top 2 siderails for all our residents just for mobility.  Do I need to code them on P4?  Thanks.
