In the
AANAC survey done a couple of years back they asked the questions about how long
it takes to complete the various assessments. I am attaching their
results.
We use
the following timeframes for determining the # of MDS Coord. we
need:
Comprehensive - 6 hours
Quarterly - 1.5-2 hours
MPAF
1.5 hours
Tracking Forms 5 minutes
These
are just averages, some take longer some take shorter amounts of
time.

I
think the time demand will vary with the type of
assessment.
What
do you think is a reasonable amount of time?
Maybe you should have your
administrator sit down with you while you do an MDS, including all prep
time. That is ridiculous.

Time studies
We have just
been told from our administration that we are taking too much time doing the
MDS, they say it should only take 20 minutes to do a MDS. Can anyone help me
find the time studies that have been done. It sure would help to show the
powers that be it takes much longer. They have been told by consultants that
AANAC is the ultimate in MDS info, so hopefully they will believe it if the
info comes from here, thanks. Deb
