Michelle— The RAI Manual states on page 3-202 Intent: To record how many times the resident was
admitted to the hospital with an overnight stay in the last 90 days or since
the last assessment if less than 90 days [regardless of payment status for
these days either by the hospital or by the nursing facility]. If the resident is a new admission to the
facility, this item includes admissions during the period prior to admission. Since you are completing a 14Day/Admission assessment, I understand
this to mean that you would count any hospitalizations prior to admission to
your facility in the last 90 days. I
would not consider the 5Day MPAF assessment since it does not include this
