The RAI Manual states
on page 3-202
Intent:
To
record how many times the resident was admitted to the hospital with an
overnight stay in the last 90 days or since the last assessment if less than
90 days [regardless of payment status for these days either by the hospital or
by the nursing facility]. If the
resident is a new admission to the facility, this item includes admissions
during the period prior to admission.
Since you are
completing a 14Day/Admission assessment, I understand this to mean that you
would count any hospitalizations prior to admission to your facility in the
last 90 days. I would not
consider the 5Day MPAF assessment since it does not include this
question.

question. On section P5 where it asks for hospital stays, this is not on
the MPAF. When you answer it on the admission/14 day do you check no,
since there have not been any hospital stays since last
assessment?
