As an old ICU nurse, nitro drips would be very dangerous in a nursing home. There is no way that a nursing facility can do the monitoring that goes with nitrating and maintaining a nitro drip. This would be insane to do. A person’s bp can fall within seconds on a nitro drip as well as other horrible things happen. DON’T DO IT!!!!!

Dear Listmates: I have 3 questions. Please: 1} Does any one know where I can get a list of IV meds used in Nursing homes? 2} Is a nitro drip used in NHs for residents or only hospital Pts.? 3} How many of you have seen this in your homes? Is it legal? It is safe? I don't think so, needs closed monitoring BP, etc., I would like to hear what you have to say on this matter. Thank you. my fax is 305-633-7593
