I believe that this is the way it is to be done. The RN can delegate duties to those s/he feels is able to perform the duty, and the RN is responsible for the actual quality of the work. As long as the RN is actually reading it, (and hopefully, signing it, too) I believe you meet the standard. Of course, if it was "grossly negligent", the RN as well as the LPN would be on the witness stand!
