We retype our care plans quarterly also….easy
to do with computer…..average 2-3 pages per quarter…not that much
of an issue…..what is the issue is if the care plan is being continually
updated by hand like it should be…..usually in 3 months it’s a mess
of changes (a mess I like – someone is actually looking at the care
plan!). It then needs to be retyped so that it can be easily read. I try to find other ways to conserve
paper!

Why do you "retype" care plans with every
MDS? WHy not update the care plan; i.e. goal date changed; resolved
issues indicated and new problems addressed.
Retyping care plans with every MDS generates ALOT of
paper for the chart.
