NO you can not do the assessment when she is not in the
building. I realize you know her very well, but she may have something
else going on that you can't tell about while she is in the hospital.
What you need to do is first, make a note in the chart that her assessment was
due on (put in date) but she is in the hospital. When your res. returns
then make a note that she was re-admited to the facility, and that you will be
monitoring for 14 days. Then due the assessment at the end of the 14
days. Does that make sense? But you can not do an assessment on a
person who is not in the building. It would be like your doctor telling
the insurance company that he done a pap smear on you, but on the day it was
to be done, you were in the Carribean on a cruise.
Subject: Resident out to Hospital! Need
ASAP Please!
Hello
Everyone,
I
need some clarity please! I have a resident who was admitted to the
hospital on 03/14. 03/15 was day 92 for a quarterly assessment(Medicaid).
I am sure she will return in a couple of days therefore I d/ced her with
return anticipated. My question is now what do I do when she comes back to
the facility. Her ARD was 03/08 so technically I have 7 days of look back
info. Can I do this assessment without her here? I know this resident very
well and have contact almost daily. Thanks!
