Nancy,

The way I see this you do not need the 60 day nor the 30 day assessment.  Your 5 day pays from 1/28/04 through 2/10/04, and your 14 day pays from 2/11/04 through 2/18/04   You do not get paid for the day of discharge.  You do not need to do an OMRA since he will be going home before day time which would have been 2/21/04.  A significant change is not needed due to him going home.  Hope this helps.

Angie

Subject: what to do

Hello to all

I am in need of assistance with this scenario: resident admitted with Geisinger Health plan. They follow Med A rules and pay up to 60 days only.  Resident's adm date: 1-28-04

                                             five day : 2-1-04 SE2 RUG

                                             14 day + adm: 2-8-04 RUG CBI

                                              30 day : 2-24-04 RUG RMB

DX End stage cirrhosis of live with stage four necorosis. He was admitted semi-comtaose. He came around as you could see by his rug. His 30 day was only coded 30 day financial due to ongoing progression with his PT , he was slowly going from ext to lim. PT extended his tx x 2 more weeks due to him doing so well. PT d/c on 2-11-04 due to max pot achieved , independent believe it or not. He has pending d/c to home on 2-19-04. I have his 60 day + sign change sch on 2-17-04 . My question being. do I still have to do the 60 + sign change ? since his is going home.

thanks to all
