There is no regulation that the AA9 date has to be the same as the ARD or in any time frame as long as it is before or on the R2b. Otherwise you would have to sign the AA9 on midnight of the ARD! The MDS would not even be printed yet. See page 1-24 and 1-25 . 1-24 says AA9 "should reflect the date of the assessment and may be earlier that the date in R2b." If it was what surveyors think, all the team would have to saty at work until midnight of the ARD. Show them the RAI manual. Good luck, but that is not grounds for citation.

Subject: AA9 signature date citation...HELP!

I need quick help please......we received a deficiency on a survey because one of the signatures at AA9  was 6 days after the ARD, the assessment was a SCSA and the ARD was set on day 5 after the resident returned from the hospital.......

I can't find a stipulation on the number of days from the ARD that the AA9 signatures must be entered.

FYI - our staff enter the date they are actually reviewing the printed assessment and signing it.....as this is when they know it is accurate.

Please include documentation.

Thx in advance!
