correcting myself - set your reference day no earlier than day 8 and no later than day 10 after all rehab stops IF THEY STILL have a skilled need. Since he had no rehab in the look back period you should be able to just do the comprehensive that is due for OBRA & MEdicare and not have to do the OMRA at all.

the OMRA has to be completed BY day 8 so you can combine your assessments. Remeber the HIPPS code will also change - it will be 78. The other option is since the current assessment will show the change in rehab, you can probably get by NOT doing the OMRA - the MEDICARE 14 DAY MDS should be accurate if there are no Rehab minutes in the 7 day look back period. If the MDS is due on 5/12 your look back starts on 5/6. Did the patient have rehab on 5/6? That is what you need to know to decide which way to code this assessment

I need to see if I have this right. On a Medicare Comprehensive assessment 14 day mds  due on 5-12 resident was Dcd from PT on 5-6 I have to do the comp assess first on the 12 th then turn around and do the OMRA on the 13 th  which is the 8 day after PT discharged. Am I correct?
