I'm not sure at what hospital you are having your bone marrow biopsy done but my only suggestion is that whoever is doing the biopsy is experienced. I know personally that when I had mine done it was at a teaching hospita and the first Dr to attempt the biopsy failed beause she didn't have much experience performing biopsies and it was painful but when the more experienced Dr came in to complete the biopsy it was quick and barely any pain.l Don't get me wrong resident doctors are fantastic and smart completely efficient dr's but hey lets face it the more you do it the better you are at it!! The next time I decided to have anesthesia and then I didn't feel anything, but you have to fast and have an IV. When I was awake with the Xanax, it really wasn't that bad. Good luck with the biopsy.
