I do not have an experience like you... I have been on gleevec for about 6 months now. But I think that trial is a great option for you and all of us... also still there is a BMT (we do not want it), but actually this one can save our life. I hate to say that but I am not so scared because I am in the USA. If I would be back home in Slovakia, I have no idea where I would be and definitely my doctor would not be able to send me to any trials.
I wish you a good luck and please do not be depressed. There are still many options to try. For me the main think is to truly BELIEVE that I will be o.k. And how do you know that you have 2-5 years to live? How do you know it? Is there also any doctor who can say that for sure? Nobody knows....
I heard such a great stories about BMS and AMN trials, and most of the people say that those medications are helping them. I am sure Rob will have more exp.
