Hey Terry,
I filled out the disability forms last week. My doctor faxed them to my HR person this morning. Basically they stated that I can work 10-15 hours as tollerated. My thought was that 2 days per week, 9-3 wasn't too bad and that it would at least keep me in the loop with my job and my company. I've been with them since they started, literally and they're pretty big now (nearly 200 people) and looking to go public in about 2 years. I would be crushed to leave there entirely. The days I work have been difficult and I'm not good for much else that day but at least I'm doing something and 2 days per week isn't that bad. My HR Manager said she'd send the forms into Short Term Disability today and see where we go from there. They cover day 31 through 90 and then I'll have to fill out other forms for long term disability for days 91 plus. I feel pretty strong that my company won't screw me as I've
put my heart and soul into it over the years but I know that their insurance company doesn't owe me anything and will be carefull when dealing with them. The support I've recieved from you guys has been wonderful. At first I felt funny as if I was taking advantage by going out on partial disability. I didn't want to be the 'only' person who'd ever gone out with CML. A stupid idea I now know but at the time it seemed completely legit. I relay think the 2 days will work well for me and will keep my mind and body in a good ballance.
:}
