Chrissy, No reason to worry - you've done everything properly & should be proud of your skills in getting the job! Also keep in mind that most CMLers dont really have any significant side effects such that it would effect someone in a work environment. on this group, we hear the side effects because it is a support group & that tends to be the nature of where people can provide support. I personally worked with my old job for 2 years after being diagnosed (travelling about 1/3 time), and began an intense gym workout 5 days/week at the same time (which i continue today). Now i have started my own company & am as active/busy as ever. Just in case it seems overwhelming at times, keep in mind that us CMLers are blessed with an optimistic outlook and a bright future. Being diagnosed & on gleevec does not necessarily mean that our work will be affected. Sure we need to take sick days for doctors visits etc, but thats well within the bounds of what is expected with a new employee. Certainly some people have side effects where it will infringe on work, but if you believe the doctors statistics, about 90% of people dont have significant side effects.
all the best & good luck with the job!
