I have to say that I am hesitant to tell people at first.  If the
opportunity presents itself, and I feel comfortable, I'll say "well
I've been living with CML or Leukemia" for over 2 years now.  Like you
said, sometimes people are very surprised, but I found that some people
don't give me opportunities to advance because they fear I will go into
"blast" phase and not be able to handle it.
