Hi Terry and Candle, et al,
 
I, too, have had the resection done - in fact, twice, about 10 years apart. Most recently, in June 03 (2 months after CML dx), I had 16" removed from the end of my small intestine. Since then, my Crohn's has been inactive (thankfully). The reason for the resection at that time was to get me off the Prednisone that I had been on for years - because it was interfering with my CBC results, and my oncologist couldn't get a true reading on my white count (because Prednisone will often elevate the count).
 
Acknowledging that this is a CML group, I'd also like to ask Candle about her CML and Crohn's combination - specifically, what medications you're on for both CML and Crohn's. Between the two, I take about 42 pills/day (both prescriptions and OTC) - do you take that much also???
Finally, Candle, I'm hearing the same thing from everyone that I talk to - there is NO correlation between the two, CML and Crohn's. I've asked everyone, from Dr. Druker (OHSU), to every oncologist and gastroenterologist I've ever seen in the past 3 years.
