Cheryl,

Actually I do not have tattoos, and there was a dress code that I followed when I was employed. I in fact wore a tie to work except on casual fridays. Even then I wore a dress shirt and a pair of "neat" jeans.
I guess I did not word things properly. I was making a statement on how despite not fitting the "corporate image" per say that I still was able to climb the ladder to the extent that I was in a supervisory position, and because I did such a damn good job that persons outside of my department could not effect my standing within the company. I am not bitter toward the company in any way shape or form. To the contrary, I am happy with their treatment of me. They held my position for over a year until they couldn't hold it any longer. When my boss called to give me the bad news she actually cried. I was about to be promoted when CML decided to enter into my life and basically screw things up. This really has nothing to do with CML but I guess I am a prime example of not judging a person before you know them. I have to admit your comments kinda ticked me off a bit. I never said I went to work dressed like a vampire or rockstar wanna be.

Terry,

As I've mentioned before, the BMT question was addressed to children as
there is a much higher success rate in that patient population.

I am sorry that you have had troubles with your employment.  As you
probably know, when you are in a certain industry, you have to be
willing to dress the part.  I can't imagine a bunch of patients
flocking to a doctor dressed in ragged jeans, long hair and tatooes for
advice and treatment.  We human beings are funny that way!  I can
imagine your employers being a bit taken aback by your long hair and
dark attire while working in the anti fraud industry.  However, you
would be perfectly welcomed in the music industry or other industry
where self _expression_ are more easily over looked ;-)

Sorry that you have to be on disability too!  Hang in there though, I
suffered through 3 years of side effects while working and doing
volunteer work with the local hospital, it isn't fun!

Here's HOPING your side effects get better with time and you can get
back to your life.

CHEERS !
Cheryl-Anne
