I think it's important to get vaccinations. Those of us who are "in remission" need to protect ourselves against any malady that might put a strain on our immune system, just as healthy people must. My onc agreed with my decision to have the pneumonia vaccine, the yearly flu vaccine and any other offering that may arise and makes sense. I'm going to have the shingles vaccine this winter. As for "Gleevec fog," many of us report having trouble dealing with pattern recognition, ability to focus and so on. The mental agility one took for granted pre-dx has been lessened and some tasks demand conscious and deliberate concentration. This is infuriating but at least one is around to realize that there's a problem to be handled and can then set about doing it.
