You need to apply. It takes a little while for it to go through. Call
800-772-1213. Tell them that you want to apply over the phone for SSD and SSI
for
him. SSI will kick in faster than SSD. Insist that they take the application
over the phone. They will follow it up with paper work, but this should
speed up the process a little.
