Hi Greenie, and I know just how you feel. I wanted to do a PCR before my next trip to my onc and I faxed them and ask them to send me a prescription for it. They never even called me back. It wouldn't be so bad if my platelets weren't up over the normal range. It seems we have to make our own medical decisions so we need to learn all we can about this CML. On my last visit he told me I was playing games because I dropped back to 4 pills when my neutrophils dropped way to low; I had faxed him then with no answer, and I took it upon myself to lower the dose until they came back up; he called that playing games. I don't believe CML is any kind of a game, and your are so right, if they had to deal with for just a few days they would know what we are going through. I am changing Oncs so we will see if it's all the same story. As you know, I have my faith to see me through all this; pills with faith is my motto. I found a site that lists all the side effects of Gleevec, and there were a lot no one ever told me about. Fluid around the heart, heart failure and many more. This is what we are dealing with daily. Hang in there Greenie, my fellow CML Warrior. Blessings, Jeanie<3 In a message dated 8/5/2008 3:03:48 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:
My Doctor from Northwestern Medical in Chicago who is the head man in charge, finally called be back. I asked him about my Internist giving me Zoloft to take for anxiety problem I'm been having. I told him that a fellow CML friend that's in our group sent me an e-mail that I should check out the drug Wellbutrin XL before taking Zoloft. His comment was for me to call Walgreens and ask them to check it out. Then he said David, if this is not an emergency I really don't have time to talk. THAT WILL BE THE LAST TIME I WILL EVER CALL HIM AGAIN.....The only reason I deal with these people is because I'm in a study and I get the drug for free. I have to drive their two times, once for blood work and pick up my pills. The other 6 months to get my BMB. I called my Doctor in Springfield after hanging up with the Doctor in Chicago and his nurse told me he was in Branson today. Fifteen min. later I received a call from is nurse that she will talk to him first thing in the morning. Now that's service. I would never wish anything bad on anybody, but they need to put themselves in our shoes and have to worry about every little thing that goes wrong like we have. Maybe then they would see a different song. I think you can tell I'm P***ed off. Greenie Springfield, MO **************Looking for a car that's sporty, fun and fits in your budget?
