Hi Sheila: I have been on Gleevec for years and had lots of side effects. Finally my Onc. decided to switch me to Sprycel and I wasn't on that for long. I had lots of bone/muscle problems, so he put me back on 800 mg. of Gleevec. He just changed me again a couple of months ago to Tasigna and when I read the side effects, I was scared, but had no choice, so I went on it. We've had to play around with it and deal with the muscle/joint pain, but it is working well so far and a lot less side effects then I had on Gleevec. This drug is made by the same company as Gleevec. You might want to check into it. I do wish you well. I will see my Onc. tomorrow and, hopefully, all will be well.
