Dear Jody, There is so much hope out there for CML. I was diagnosed 3 years ago and had some ups and downs until the correct meds and dosage was found. Usually the first line of defense is the Golden Bullet called Gleevec. I was told when first diagnosed if you have to have Leukemia CML is the one to have. With these new Target drugs we can look forward to a long lifetime. I can't imagine how I would feel if one of my children was diagnosed, but being in the thick of this disease I can tell you doctors are on the cutting edge of so many different options to control this form of leukemia. Once your son and his oconologist have a plan you will feel much better. When you start seeing his blood counts coming down to normal you will begin to relax. I don't know if you are a Christian but I know that the Lord has been my Shepherd and has held my hand through the bad times and the good times. I couldn't have done this without my faith.
