Jody, My son was diagnosed almost a year ago, in late March 2008, when he was six years old. He went on Gleevec and is doing really well now! He plays team sports and has a normal life. He might be a bit over-scheduled in fact, and he keeps up with everything.
We were devastated as well, and I don't think you can prevent that. You need to go through it and adjust to your new situation. It's still not easy, at all, but we're all living a normal life, and he's doing everything his classmates are doing. So there's definitely hope. There's a few medicines out there for treating CML, and they really work. Feel free to respond to the group, or to my email address directly. - John On Wed, Feb 25, 2009 at 3:48 PM, Jody <[email protected]> wrote: > > My son who is 25 was just recently disgnosed I am devestated can > anyone give me hope > > > > --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ [CMLHope] A support group of http://cmlhope.com ------------------------------------------------- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "CMLHope" group.
