Hi Lenda,
I have had the red face for a long time now--I had it on Gleevec and
Tasigna-I also have hot spells when I feel so hot I throw all the covers off.
Do you take a water pill--I take lasix when if feel I'm getting to much
water on my system. I also have a problem with feeling my heart pounding in my
chest and it keeps me awake at night.
I think the best drink might be a martini made with gin- shaken with no
vermouth.
If the drink hurts you don't have it--we have given up a lot for our
health.
Blessings,
Jeanie<3

I have also found that I have problems with drinking...Sprycel has had
quite an effect on my blood pressure and when I have just one drink or even
half a drink, my face, neck and ears turn bright red and my head hurts, I get
dizzy and nauseous. It also happens with caffeine and pain meds with
codeine! (boy do I miss my Starbucks!)

I have also gained a lot of fluid weight with Sprycel which explains some
of the blood pressure issues, but not the spikes. I see my primary doc
tomorrow, so maybe she can come up with another blood pressure med or send me
to a heart doctor. Anyway, I totally understand wanting to feel "normal"
and just go out and have some fun. Maybe you could try a fruity drink or one
with milk. It might not be a gassy!

You're right, it's all about trial and error!!

Lenda
