Hello,

I have also found that I have problems with drinking...Sprycel has had quite an
effect on my blood pressure and when I have just one drink or even half a
drink, my face, neck and ears turn bright red and my head hurts, I get dizzy
and nauseous. It also happens with caffeine and pain meds with codeine! (boy do
I miss my Starbucks!)

I have also gained a lot of fluid weight with Sprycel which explains some of
the blood pressure issues, but not the spikes. I see my primary doc tomorrow,
so maybe she can come up with another blood pressure med or send me to a heart
doctor. Anyway, I totally understand wanting to feel "normal" and just go out
and have some fun. Maybe you could try a fruity drink or one with milk. It
might not be a gassy!

You're right, it's all about trial and error!!

Hello,
I thought I would add, as an afterthought.........having a few drinks
with my friends helps me feel "normal" and it seems to alleviate the
worries of my friends....you know how they walk on eggshells with the
dreaded "cancer" word. I have found just recently, I cannot drink beer
AT ALL now. The heartburn is so intense I have to go home and lie down
even after downing numerous TUMS. My mother told me that beer is so
gassy, it's no wonder. I can live without alcohol - no problem, but I
would rather find something else I can drink that doesn't tear my
stomach up so bad so I don't have to give up those monthly parties!
Trial and error, eh?
Give it all you've got!
