Hi Tom (1292)

and all the best to you as well. You are also fighting my war, and your

winning the battle. just as I have. Anyone that beats the crap out of CML is

my Alli, and you just continue hanging in there my friend.

Marty Gartenberg

Diagnosed in May of 1988

First day of Total Body Radiation May 10 1989

First entered Luminous Air Flow Chamber May 10 1990

Remained in LAF Chamber for seven months.

Released in December 1990

Spiked high fever one week later.

Back in LAF for one month.

Released from LAF January 1991

Readmitted to LAF June 1991 for Phenomena

Released from LAF two weeks later.

Considered cured May 1995

Still CML free as of today. [?][?][?]

If you notice I fought this battle and thank GOD I won. I just wanted

everyone to see that no matter what your going through GOD has a plan for

you. We may not understand it but it is still why I am alive today.

I did not have the "luxury" of having Gleevec or any other drug that might

have helped me. Almost everyone on this list does have something that is now

available to them to stop this horrible disease in it's tracks, and please

be very thankful. Sure it is OK to complain about side effects or anything

else that you might be going through, but the bottom line here is that you

are still here to complain.

I wish that you keep on complaining for the next hundred years. I love each

and every one of you because I believe in my heart that you are all very

special people in that you are dealing with something that couldn't be dealt

with in my time other then going through a bone marrow transplant.

You ask Zavie about the old times that three of us (Me, Zavie and Jeff, we

call ourselves The Three Musketeers) went through different things to help

with our CML. Now, today the three of us are living "normal" lives, each in

our own way.

You, yes each and every one of you are now my heroes. You keep on hanging in

there, and may you all have a very healthy and happy New Year. [?]
