Sean, I understand it was at your doctor's suggestion but it is your
decision. Only you know what the meds do to you..... I went through
living hell on the Gleevec and endured it for almost 6 years but the
Gleevec was doing me more harm than good....it was just too much
suffering and I stood it as long as I could. I have recently started
taking Sprycel....and I am terrified, but I also have emphysema so I'm
worried about the pleural effusion. I had everything else with
Gleevec, the puffy eyes but not fluid retention around my heart or
lungs. My theory is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The Gleevec was
working with little side effects. I would think about it especially if
you are having the fluid build up around your lungs. I wish you well.
