Hi Kelly,
I am on 70mg of Sprycel instead of 100mg due to low neutrophil/white
blood cell count and major side effects (like constant mouth sores and
severe constipation). I see Dr Cortes at MD Anderson and he is very
comfortable treating patients at lower doses if necessary and sees no
problem with me being on only 70mg of Sprycel. My local onc would
rather I have tried TAsigna or Gleevec before lowering Sprycel, but Dr
Cortes thought lowering the drug that achieved a cytogenic result
would be the smarter move, so that's what we did. Talk about night
and day...I really would have thought I was taking a totally different
drug...there are still side effects and my counts still hover pretty
low, but not dangerously low and I'm not taking 8 other medications
for constant side effects. I'm just dealing with them.

Praying for you! And for your heart and lungs! And for a cure for PH
and CML!!!!
