Structured content is useful for both distribution/redisplay and computer
parsing. I'm not disagreeing with that at all.

I agree.

I understand where you are coming from with the email examples. I won't
argue that email is a bad structure for storing content. And, if I was
tasked with using an email system as a front-end to a CMS, I certainly would
have a lot to change.

I guess I was thinking broader than that, but clearly I didn't communicate
that very well. Portable content is really what I meant to say, perhaps.
