Structured content is useful for both distribution/redisplay and computer parsing. I'm not disagreeing with that at all. > When I use the term "holistic view" I mean to have the perception that > in CM a technical decision can have impact in all vertices that touch > the usage and applicability of a CMS and this may influence negatively > an a specific solution (not just one but several) if not done > with care. I agree. I understand where you are coming from with the email examples. I won't argue that email is a bad structure for storing content. And, if I was tasked with using an email system as a front-end to a CMS, I certainly would have a lot to change. > granted that you were using the term repurposing as the ability to > direct the very same content (reformatting) to be display in multiple > devices. I guess I was thinking broader than that, but clearly I didn't communicate that very well. Portable content is really what I meant to say, perhaps. -Darrel -- http://cms-list.org/ trim your replies for good karma.
