A company that's managed to last *3 years* in the web world is nothing
to be sneezed at, in my opinion.  Much larger giants have fallen in 
far less time during the dotcom mania years.

You don't list what your worries are, so I don't think anyone can say.

You've just spent a month studying a product - you're familiar with it, 
and you will inherently be judging other products against what you've
already learned.

I'd suggest you contact the ez company about a commercial support
contract, which they'd probably be happy to provide for your $5k 
budget.
