Not at all. Read in the same documentation:
"A specialised program is marked arcane. Such a program has a
specialised purpose or accesses an interface that may be obscure."

Some of my favorite stages are marked as such ;-)

I see WARP as UDP within a virtual machine. When we wanted this, my
idea was that it would simplify for example logging to a central place
when you spawn worker threads. As it turns out, it isn't that hard to
chain all output streams with 'faninany' stages.

Having business logic in procedural REXX does not prevent you from
using CMS Pipelines; that's why we have stages written in REXX. Many
people start by just taking advantage of Pipes to handle the I/O, but
you're missing the best if you stop there.

> What's "indoor plumbing"?

I fear *that* is a plumbing joke. Back when CMS Pipelines became part
of VM/ESA, it was referred to as "indoor plumbing" as opposed to add-on
product (see "VM and the VM Cummunity" pg 63).
My wording "upgraded the indoor plumbing" was meant to say that we took
out the old pipes and put in all new pipes (as opposed to shipping a
roll of flexible pipe with the product, for customers as DIY project).
