Indeed - my CMS (not open source, not finished yet and no English version ready yet either) uses Tidy for dealing with most of all the user input. This because I have to ensure well-formedness on all aspects that are variable, which is, well, a LOT! And Tidy is simply the only way to reliably deal with that, without having to do an awful (read: obscene) amount of coding yourself. Tidy's absolutely excellent. Very powerful and flexible - so, my recommendation is, if you have to choose between two CMS's that both fit your needs equally well, and one is without tidy and the other one with, then definitely go for the one With Tidy.
