I love Textpattern too, many times I hold back to use TXP when a client's need is basic and small, is that the project seems dying (which I really hate to see).

I just wanted to fill in here: Maybe 4.1 will never (or very late) see the light of the day, the current branch is still developed, and a 4.0.7 release is on its way with a rebuilt <txp:tag> system:

Textpattern is as alive as we want it to be - it needs support, developers and client projects to evolve.
