<txp:fanboy> First, regarding your particular question for an email system: I'm pretty sure you can do it with one of this two Textpattern plug-ins: Postmaster (a simple to use email-on-post / newsletter manager for Textpattern): http://www.benbruce.com/postmaster http://www.benbruce.com/postmanual sde_newsletter (Send HTML emails from within Textpattern.) http://textpattern.org/plugins/1021/sde_newsletter I've used the *Postmaster* plugin and can confirm it's a great tool for manage/sending newsletter from within the CMS. The flow is: you publish an article, and once it's published/saved, it lets you send it to the list you choose. With Postmaster, you can: *) manage subscriptions/unbsubscriptions *) manage multiple list, of course. *) send text-only or html emails (multipart emails) *) you can fully customize the email. So you can include whatever you want, literally. So, you can send "notification" emails (aka "email on post" or "an article has been published") or the article itself, including an excerpt, for example. Regarding Textpattern. You will read people saying that Textpattern is dying, or even already dead. Those are just *lies*. Textpattern: *) is more than alive, 4.0.7 is about to come out ( http://textpattern.com/weblog). *) has a full ecosytem of plugins (http://textpattern.org) *) is fully documented (http://textbook.textpattern.net/) *) plugins are easilly installed just copy-pasting a string (a base64 code) on the admin side. No FTP involved. *) is like an empty canvas. The HTML/CSS is up to you. Txp doesn't get in the middle. Many Txp resources have been listed on one of the latest Smashing Magazine articles: http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2008/11/06/textpattern-developers-toolbox/ Feel free to contact me if you want to know a anything else about this open source CMS and/or the Postmaster plugin. </txp:fanboy> Regards, Julián ************************************************************** Guidelines: http://webstandardsgroup.org/mail/guidelines.cfm Unsubscribe: http://webstandardsgroup.org/join/unsubscribe.cfm Help: [EMAIL PROTECTED] **************************************************************
