I'd be surprised if Drupal was any more complicated than any of the
others you listed.

Also, I agree with you very strongly that proprietary is a huge downside
(a show stopper, in my opinion, given that the quality of the open
source options makes all the proprietary options I'm aware of pale in
comparison).

Think about things like setting up development instances/sandboxes,
transfering sites between hosts, etc.  All of those things are only
possible if you're not having to worry about license keys, etc.  To me,
proprietary is total handicap in the web world.
