Debian packages the latest official release of CMUCL, which is why
they distribute 18e. Perhaps someone could sponsor a cmucl-snapshot
package with our monthly snapshot binaries.

While I'm a Debian user, I must admit that I don't use its cmucl
packages; I've run into annoyances with the common-lisp-controller.
It would be good to have a well-packaged Common Lisp environment,
  though.
