Chuck,

I use doughnuts for moderate to heavy breeze.  I slip them on the luggage eye 
before I put on the snap shackle.  With the luggage eye, it's no big deal to 
remove them for light air.

I also have a very light spin sheet.  Essentially an extremely small line with 
a plastic snap shackle.  I put a loop of the line through the spin clew ring 
then hook the snap shackle through the loop.


I do use twings.  They clip to the toerail at max beam.  I use the following:

Harken 2646 single block with cam cleat and becket  HAR2646
Harken 1584 snap shackle  HAR1584
Lewmar LEW29900240 tweeker block

A bit pricey now but well worth it in my opinion.
