I made my sheets somewhat like Dennis said, standard polyester doublebraid (like sta-set) and dyneema for the last 15 ft or so... the "splice" is easy. I used dyneema "soft shackles" instead of regular shackles, low weight and they don't hurt you if they hit you. I sewed the soft shackles into the luggage tag type ends just so they did not get away while stored. I was very happy with the soft shackles and they never shook loose (I sail single handed and have been known to flog a spinnaker for awhile)... I used these spin sheets for everything.
