The A4 is a solid lifter engine.

That's great news!
I don't know if you have hydraulic valve lifters.  If not, the clearance may 
need to be adjusted, but make sure you use a feeler gauge this time!  Be sure 
to have a spare valve cover gasket.

Well the yard Aligned the engine for me yesterday and she runs great!  I was 
puttering around the harbor yesterday and the boat motors very well and 
maneuvers very predictably!  I'm happy!

The A4 does seem to tick though.  Like a lifter noise.  Does anyone know if the 
atomic 4 is supposed to sound that way?
