The previous owner of my 1984 27V had a go at a well known reef on my lake and separated the keel stub from the hull to the degree that the boat was taking on a fair bit of water until they hauled. I don't know the full story other than he must have been going hull speed to do that kind of damage. I put in lots of hours on the repair and she has been storm and 8 foot breaker tight for 4 years and counting. They may break but at least they can be fixed.
